Retained Consulting Services of Winning Associates

Have an HR Professional on Call Without Having One on Payroll

What should you be looking for in a consulting firm? Other than reliability of information, you should also want reliability of service. We provide both.

From hiring decisions to disciplinary problems and from compensation to compliance issues, for more than 25 years, Winning Associates has been retained by numerous companies to provide fast, common sense, effective answers to questions and management issues that plague (or just bother) them at all hours of the day or night. Whether it is a COO in a late meeting or a manager e-mailing just before the close of business, they obviously want answers quickly. Our FAQ provides examples of just a few of the myriad of issues that do confront business owners, managers and supervisors.

Although we no longer take calls at 2 A.M., we are able to serve our clients now in 26 states between 8 A.M. and 6 P.M. Pacific Time and on many weekends. We will usually respond to any call or email from our retained clients no more than an hour after receiving a page or the actual call or email. Even if we're out-of-state, technology enables calls to be tranferred to pager or phone anywhere in the country.

We will assist retained clients in writing individual policies for employee or administrative handbooks, explain why certain policies are necessary, assist in developing job descriptions, make determinations of employee classifications, provide answers to problems of counseling "problem" employees, improving employee behavior or performance, or the possibility of terminating an employee. (We are not attorneys, and there may be instances where the client will be asked to contact a competent labor lawyer where we cannot be of service.)

Our retainers are based upon a several factors: the number of employees, whether Winning Associates wrote the employee handbook or other policies and procedures, the type of industry, and your state location. Our retainers are basically as follows:

Per Month Number of Hours Included Hourly Fee After Maximum
$250 Two $235-285
$350 Four $225
$500 Seven $190
$600+ Please call $165

All hourly fees are on a minute-by-minute basis. Unlike some, we do not round up to the nearest 15 minutes. Although this fact sheet is about retainers, we do at times take on assignments not under contract or retainer (such as developing compensation systems and the attendant job descriptions etc.) for which we charge a higher hourly rate. A much higher prepayment is also required.

All retainers are for a minimum of 4 months and all are plus actual expenses such as phone, postage, and copies. Two month's retainer must be paid in advance. Clients will be billed on the last day of each month for the following month.

For complete details, please email or call 1-800-823-6366 or 925-944-1034. A contract will be drawn up based upon our discussion, and will be mailed or faxed to you. If you email, please give your name, company name, telephone number, address, type of industry, and the number of employees (including part-time and temps).
