Though Winning Associates sells two forms related to the departure of an employee - the "Job Review/Exit Interview Report" and the "Termination/Resignation Report" - I admit that the reason they were designed was to meet the needs of very large organizations, organizations which perhaps has the "need" foisted upon them by equal employment opportunity or affirmative action laws and regulations.
However, it has become clear that, especially in the fast growth and volatile and sometimes schizophrenic employment atmosphere surrounding many technology companies, the exit interview serves other purposes with particular emphasis on perhaps the last opportunity to secure proprietary information and company materials. Imagine the new dilemma(s) in such firms: about to lose employees
